Coming up soon for many high school students is graduation!  It's a great time to find something special to give the grad in your life.

A great way to make your gift stand out from all of the others is to make it more personal, both unique items and also with something related to the new graduate.

Some ideas?  Look for the things that are important in your graduate's life.  For example, I am a musician and when I was in high school my goal was to go to college for music.  As such, my brother bought me a music baton for graduation with a note:  "Thinking about the future."  It was only about $10 for the baton, but it was the best gift I got for graduation.

As we are approaching Mother's day, figuring out what to get mom and the other special ladies in your life can be quite a challenge.  Personalized gifts are an excellent way to show mothers how important they are to you, and they don't have to be extremely expensive either.  Here are a few ideas and tips for getting mom a personal gift she'll love without breaking the bank.

Flowers are such a great gift idea for many women.  But they will only last a short while, and then you are left with an empty vase.  What can you do to get a longer lasting gift?  No, don't get her fake flowers.  What about the vase?  Engraving a personal message onto a vase will mean that she gets to keep your Mother's Day gift for many years to come.

Your mom may love to bake, but getting her a Pyrex set may send the wrong message (e.g. "I got you this baking stuff so you can make me some brownies").  But glass cookware with "Best Mom in the World" engraved in will let her know you were thinking about her (even if you were also thinking of brownies).
